HE HAUMANU MĀROHIROHI RONGONUI
Mahea te hūpē, whakaea te poho taimaha, te korokoro me te pongāihu

Rongoā rākau (native therapeutic plants) have been used by Māori for generations. Mātauranga (knowledge) has been passed down from generation to generation. That knowledge includes what to use, and how to use it.

Kūmarahou (pomaderris kumeraho), as we have been taught, is a natural go to for helping conditions that impact our respiratory system. Additionally, kūmarahou was traditionally used to promote healthy skin. Let's take a closer look.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Key highlights based on traditional use and beliefs -

  1. Respiratory support: Kūmarahou is often used to support respiratory health, particularly for conditions like coughs, colds, flu, covid, asthma, emphysema, COPD, asthma to name some. This plant has earned the trust of Māori because it clears the airways and promotes easier breathing.

  2. A natural anti-inflammatory: The plant contains saponins, which are thought to have anti-inflammatory properties. This makes kūmarahou potentially useful for soothing inflamed tissues and easing discomfort. Māori believe kūmarahou can help heal damaged lung tissue.

  3. Antimicrobial: Mātauranga i tuku iho (knowledge passed down by our ancestors) suggest kūmarahou may have antimicrobial properties, which could help fight off infections.

  4. Expectorant: Historic evidence supports Māori belief that kūmarahou acts as an expectorant, helping to expel mucus from the respiratory tract. This can be beneficial for conditions such as chest congestion.

  5. Skin health: Kūmarahou has been used topically (applied to skin) for generations to help various skin conditions, including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, sores, grazes, cuts, burns and more.
