Tāniko Poutama
This intricate Maori design is inspired by the double poutama pattern seen in both traditional tukutuku and tāniko designs. The poutama is a pattern that is common throughout Māori weaving and artwork. It means stairs or stairway to heaven, and symbolises whakapapa or genealogy, and also the pursuit of knowledge and levels of advancement and growth. A perfect gift for anyone in the education industry, or studying towards a goal.
