THE CREATION:

In the beginning there was Te Kore, followed by Te Po and then Te Ao.

From Te Kore came Ranginui and Paptuanuku, with their love and embrace came forth many gods that make up the world today. I have included the following gods in my work:

Tawhirimatea (god of wind & storm)

Tumatauenga (god of war)

Tangaroa (god of the sea)

Tane Mahute (god of the forest)

Rongoatane (god of cultivated food)

Haumia-Tiketike (god of the fern root & uncultivated food)

Rehua (star god)

and Ruamoko (god of volcanoes & earthquakes).
